Contemporary Art in the South of Austria
Since its founding in 1996, the gallery for contemporary art is located in a historic building in the heart of Klagenfurt, Carinthia, Austria.
Today Galerie3 is one of the most vibrant places for contemporary art in the South of Austria and beyond.
Since 2019 the Gallery has expanded to second location in Velden close to the shores of Wörthersee. Galerie3 Velden offers changing exhibitions all year long, with seasonal opening hours and individual appointments upon request.
More than 20 years of experience
The family business is now run by the second generation and offers more than 20 years of experience in curating exhibitions. The gallery furthermore offers art consulting for individual collectors as well institutional collections including services like object mounting and project development for companies. Beside the ongoing exhibitions, visitors can view more works on display at the showroom behind the scenes.
Established art and upcoming positions
Galerie3 represents some of the best known Carinthian and Austrian Artists and has worked with big names in the international art-scene like Martin Kippenberger, Daniel Spoerri, Margot Pilz and the Artists from Gugging. To promote young artist is since its founding one of the central missions of Galerie3. In this sense for many years the gallery hosts an annual contest for young art called “Bank Austria Young Art Award Carinthia” and frequently shows upcoming positions at art fairs as well as an integral part of the regular gallery program.
Since Gallerie3 is headed by the next generation, Lena Freimüller, a lot of female positions were included in the program and a further focus lies in the collaboration with artists with disabilities, formerly called art brut or outsider artists.
